On Energy Management, Manufacturing and Factory Automation Bob Hetherington AltEnergyMag

Oct 2011

I wrote this article for HomeToys.com, our Home Technology website but it applies to Alternative Energy as well. It's not enough to monitor our energy use. WHAT THE HECK IS A SMART GRID? Bob Hetherington

I must thank the celebrities who have brought our cause to the attention of the world. Now let's hope the momentum carries through and we actually start to see real solutions and progress taking place. We need 2008 to be the year of implementation. Jun 2006

Moving forward it is ever more important that we build on our strengths and use them to change the way we do business in a global marketplace. Individually ... each of us should ask ourselves ... what value do I have to the rest of the world ... not just my country or neighborhood ... but the whole planet. In turn those of us in business must ask the same question in order to survive the changes that are taking place.

My view is that while we would all like to believe that the decision to use alternative energy sources by individuals will be justified economically ... or politically ... or culturally ... in fact the primary market growth for the products and services in this industry will be driven by responsible people who just want to feel good about the way they conserve or create energy.
