Nowadays we have several issues to face that are causing concern to humanity in general and the western world specifically. I don't think I need to repeat them here but basically they are environmental as well as geopolitical in nature. Hence, the old coal or oil burning power plant needs to be phased out and we must become much more efficient at generating and delivering electricity to end users or the costs become extraordinary over time. | |

I must thank the celebrities who have brought our cause to the attention of the world. Now let's hope the momentum carries through and we actually start to see real solutions and progress taking place. We need 2008 to be the year of implementation. Time for the engineers to be set free to do what they do best ... build stuff :-) |

Moving forward it is ever more important that we build on our strengths and use them to change the way we do business in a global marketplace. Individually ... each of us should ask ourselves ... what value do I have to the rest of the world ... not just my country or neighborhood ... but the whole planet. In turn those of us in business must ask the same question in order to survive the changes that are taking place. |

My view is that while we would all like to believe that the decision to use alternative energy sources by individuals will be justified economically ... or politically ... or culturally ... in fact the primary market growth for the products and services in this industry will be driven by responsible people who just want to feel good about the way they conserve or create energy. |
